Business Is Still Personal

Why do we do what we do?

A few months ago, I wrote a post on LinkedIn about taking my car into the dealership for a software update. I revisited that post recently, and it reminded me why I started 111 Consulting.

The story goes like this:

My tires were severely worn, and weirdly uneven. It would have been easy to have them rotated right at the dealership, but I drove to the local place I’ve been going to for years instead.

Halfway there, I started second-guessing myself. Why not just take the convenient route? Then I walked through the door and saw a sign behind the counter that said:

“I match energies, so you decide how we’re going to act.”

That’s when I remembered why I go there. It’s about people who still care about how they treat you, and how you treat them.

It’s the same reason I started 111 Consulting.

To help small businesses where they actually need the help, right in the middle of the day-to-day, where teams are doing their best but can’t always see the path forward.

My work isn’t about dropping in with a new system and leaving. It’s about working with teams to align and simplify what’s messy. Because when people have direction, they collaborate better. They make smarter decisions.

Work starts to feel lighter and more human.

Every business deserves that kind of clarity. And that’s what I love helping to build.

The best systems, processes, automations, and tools don’t replace that. They support it. They make it easier for good people to do great work.

Most small businesses already have what they need. They just need help making their tools and processes serve their people, not the other way around.

If there’s one takeaway, it’s this:

Good work starts with people who still care.
